To the dreamers and visionaries

Southern California is a mixture of the fantastic and the mundane. It’s a magnet for dreamers and visionaries.  When Balboa Park’s Spreckels Organ Pavilion debuted in late 1914, the first performance was Offenbach’s “Orpheus in the Underworld” That was followed by Haydn’s “The Creation” with a 250 person chorus. The Organ Pavilion still has fantastic performances. John and Adolph Spreckels gave our city a sweet gift indeed!
